A prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark. When a diamond exchange fails dramatically in China, Indy escapes with his little helper Short Round and their hostage -Willie, a nightclub singer. It's a nice enough flight until the pilots on their getaway plane, loyal to a Chinese gangster, decide to bail out many miles from home and they crash in the Indian jungle. Soon they stumble upon a village whose elders desperately need their help to find a stolen mystical stone artefact - and rescue their children from a dark cult. Will Indy believe in the power of the stones - or will the chilled monkey brains put him off his food for a while?
Our Rating: 9/10 - Not the best Indy movie, but beats on the Crystal Skull
Watchability: 10/10 - It's still an original Indy!

Short Round manages to snap Indy out of his trance, and together they rescue Willie and start to break the chains on the kids, and beat up the guards. To get out of the caves they jump onto a mine cart and roll away - but are still chased by ""Thuggee"" warriors. Indy breaks supports for the huge water tower, and smacks around the guards in the other carts.
With an avalanche of water just around the corner, they hang on to a ledge at the end of a canyon - and then make it to a rope bridge to get out to safety. Suddenly Thuggee warriors led by Mola Ram (""Mola Ram, Mola Ram, Mola Ram dum dum"") approach from both sides of the bridge. Indy tells Short Round to grab hold as he cuts the bridge in two with a machete. Many of the guards fall to their death to be eaten by alligators below.
Short Round and Willie make it to the top leaving Indy to fight it out with Mola Ram. Mola Ram tries the heart trick again, but Indy takes out the stones which are glowing a fiery red, and Mola Ram loses his grip falling to his death.
As Indy climbs to safety, finally the bumbling British captain turns up and they shoot back at the Thuggee warriors on the other ledge.
Indy, Willie and Short Round return to the village to give the one remaining stone back to the shamen - and bring back all the lost children. The parents are ecstatic in a genuinely happy movie ending.
Indy whips around Willie's waist to bring her closer for a kiss, as Short Round soaks them with a burst of water from an elephant he's been riding.
