So, how does the movie end??

Adonis goes from being a world-class opponent beating Amateur to a semi-pro who needs to learn the ropes again, but he comes good soon enough.

After defeating an undefeated boxer from Rocky's gym, the secret is out that he is Apollo's son - putting him on the radar of champion Pretty Ricky Conlon (Tony Bellew) who wants one last pay-day before he goes to prison.

Rocky and Adonis are really bonding, and we even find out that Apollo won the 'behind closed doors' third fight between the two. Rocky isn't sure that Adonis should take the fight, but Adonis wants the challenge - even though it means fighting under the name 'Creed'.

Soon though Rocky is struggling in the gym, and finds out he has cancer. After seeing what it did to Adrian, he refuses treatment. Adonis takes it badly and gets into a fight at a club where his girlfriend is the second headline act. Rocky visits him in prison, but they go different ways.

Adonis realises he needs to change, hears Rocky's advice, and together they both decide to fight their own personal battles. Adonis trains at the hospital while Rocky undergoes treatment.

Soon it's the big fight, at Goodison Park in Liverpool. Adonis is the away team. The fight is not going his way, he is dropped to the canvas twice, but keeps on slugging away.

In the later rounds his eye is completely swollen, in a bit of comical and unrealistic over-the-top Rocky movie make-up. The referee somehow decides he's fit to continue, while the cuts-man helps him beat the visual test. It's the final round, and Adonis comes out punching ... even managing to score a knockdown at the bell ...

But Conlon beats the count.

Conlon wins on a unanimous points decision, which is a nice change for a Rocky movie, but Adonis knows that soon he'll be able to challenge again for a world title fight, and has won the respect from Conlon and his team. He is asked about his father, and finally he has beaten his demons and tells the world that he loves the father he never knew.
