Plot:

"The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy is the greatest motorcycle road race in the world, the ultimate challenge for rider and machine. It has always called for a commitment far beyond any other racing event, and many have made the ultimate sacrifice in their quest for victory. TT: Closer To The Edge is a story about freedom of choice, the strength of human spirit and the will to win."

So, how does it end?

Things pick up when we get to the first of the TT races.

Guy doesn't do so well in the first try and finishes off the podium.

Next race and Guy is doing well in the top 3 -- but he is caught speeding in the pit lane. They take 30 seconds off his time, putting him down the pack. Guy is irate when he finds out that it was only 0.1 of a second over the limit.

Next race he finishes in the top 3, but refuses to play the game and stick around to promote the contest. The next race is rained out and Guy refuses to enter.  Or I have those two the wrong way around.

Anyway, all along, Ian Hutchinson has been winning race after race - they really should have focused on him a little more!

Sadly, two riders die this year - one being Paul Dobbs 'Dobsy', and we see the reaction from his wife and young family.

The final race - the others riders have nothing to play for, so everyone is gunning for Ian Hutchinson to stop him winning all 5 and setting the record book alight. Again, the camera crew don't really feature the humble and seemingly nice bloke too much.

Guy makes up with the officials, and is focused on the race.

Race 5 and local lad Conor Cummins gets off to another good start, as does Guy. Everyone is pushing their bike to the limits ... when suddenly Guy doesn't make it to one of the checkpoints.

Anxious moments pass before the news is filtered through from the far side of the island ... Guy has been in a massive accident. He clipped a wall and the bike erupted into a giant fireball - all caught on camera - and he was thrown through the air.

Thankfully he is ok but is rushed to hospital.

The race restarts.

Conor Cummins is pushing hard - when he reaches the top of the island and doesn't judge the steep turn --- the bike literally flies off the side of the mountain, Conor jumps but smashes against a mile marker and bounces down after his bike. He is airlifted to hospital with multiple broken bones.

Ian Hutchinson wins again to make it 5 out of 5.

A little later, we're in hospital and, amazingly, Guy looks none the worse for wear! Conor isn't doing as well down the ward, but is stable.

As it ends it shows footage from a race later in the season where Hutchinson was competing for another trophy on a "safer" track race version -- he was caught by another rider in a packed corner and knocked from his bike. While he was on the ground, another rider sickeningly rides over his leg (oh yes, it's all on camera!) and amputates his lower leg clean off.

He is sitting in a caravan with his leg in a monster cast, contemplating the future. He begged the surgeons to do what they can to save his foot.

He hopes to race again soon!
