Bruce wastes the first week showing off with his new abilities, and making amends by getting his old job back with amazing exclusives. Things are better with Grace, and he manages to get Evan fired so he can replace him as the new anchorman. At a party, Grace catches Bruce kissing his co-anchor, and leaves him.
Bruce has neglected his duties. Sick of all the prayers, he set up an auto-responder to say 'yes' to everyone - but this only leads to rioting when 400,000 people win the lottery and everyone gets what they want.
Bruce starts to change and help others. He desperately wants to win Grace back, but his attempts are not working. He learns that she prays for him every day - and when he listens in, he sees how much he has hurt her, and she'd be better off without her.
He returns to the freeway where he lost the rosary beads, and tells God that he wants out - but forgets where he is, and is knocked over by a truck. He meets God in Heaven, where he has finally learnt his lesson.
He wakes in hospital - where Grace has been moved by the accident and wants him back. He is a changed man - he finds Evan to offer him back his position, and is happy to remain as a roving reporter. He has proposed to Grace ... and is even about to give blood to benefit others.
